All shell eggs sold in California must be “California Shell Egg Food Safety Compliant” which means that the hens that produce these eggs have specific space, vaccinations and added measures to reduce the risk of Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) contamination, as specified in California Code of Regulation Title 3 Section 1350 (3 CCR 1350).
Eggs marked with the USDA’s National Organic Program label come from cage-free hens that are free to roam in their houses and have access to the outdoors. The hens are fed an organic diet of feed produced without conventional pesticides or fertilizers.

TRADITIONAL WHITE
This popular egg type is typically laid by a beautiful all-white chicken breed called the White Leghorn. High in nutritional value, some of the popular white egg brands we sell include Cal Eggs and Nulaid. We also pack and distribute many store brand labels sold in California.
CAGE FREE
The farmers take special care of the hens that lay our Barnstar Cage Free eggs. They are cared for under the Certified Humane® standards, fed a vegetarian diet and live in spacious barns where they have access to water and food, and can freely roam, scratch, perch, and nest as they please.

Every hen selected to lay Eggland’s Best Cage Free eggs is free to roam in an open barn and fed a special proprietary diet. Not only do farm fresh Egg-Land’s Best eggs taste great, but they are also an excellent source of Vitamins D&E, B2, B5, and B12 and have 25% less saturated fat than ordinary eggs.
CERTIFIED ORGANIC
The hens that lay our Barnstar brand Organic eggs are cared for under the Certified Humane® standards and raised according to the USDA organic regulations throughout their lives. They are raised on 100% certified organic vegetarian feed and must have access to roam freely in the hen house with available outdoor access. The feed is grown on land free of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides for at least three years. An independent company certifies that all U.S. Department of Agriculture requirements are met.
Eggland’s Best Organic Eggs are produced by cage-free hens that are fed a certified organic, wholesome, all-vegetarian Eggland’s Best hen feed. This special feed contains no added hormones, antibiotics, steroids, animal by-products, or recycled/processed foods. The hens selected to lay Eggland’s Best Organic Eggs are also free to roam inside a barn with outdoor access and like the hens that produce the Barnstar Organic eggs they are provided with sunlight, shade, shelter, an exercise area, and fresh air and are protected from predators, allowing them to produce some of the finest organic eggs.
PASTURE-RAISED
Pasture-raised hens are the outdoorsy types. The hens roam free and forage soft green pastures by day and share the safety of a warm, clean barn by night. Pasture-raised hens produce eggs that are incredibly delicious and packed with nutrition. The hens that lay our Barnstar brand are also cared for under the Certified Humane® standards.
EB Hard Cooked
Eggland’s Best Hard-Cooked Peeled Eggs are selected and produced from Grade AA farm-fresh medium EB Eggs. Our Hard-Cooked Peeled Eggs deliver all the same benefits of our fresh shell eggs vs. ordinary eggs.
